  • Beaulieu Estates Officer

    Dear Residents,
My name is Lauren Hull and I am the new Estates Officer working at Beaulieu for Beaulieu Estate Management Ltd.   I have recently joined the The Land Trust, of which Beaulieu Estate Management Ltd is a subsidiary; to help ensure that you are happy and engaged with the work being carried out on site.

Originally from Nottinghamshire I moved to Chelmsford nine years ago to study a degree in Landscape and Garden Design at Writtle College.   On graduating, I decided to stay in the county and began working for a charity in Harlow delivering education resources and events in a small nature reserve owned by Harlow Council.   I then moved to Essex County Council as a Parks Manager for two of their Country Parks; Weald in Brentwood and Belhus Woods in Upminster.

I am excited about the possibilities for Beaulieu and look forward to meeting you during my time on site. I live in Chelmsford so will be on site to ensure that high standards of maintenance are met, community events are delivered and you, the residents, are happy with our management of the green spaces.

Part of the work I will be doing at Beaulieu will be to deliver events throughout the year.   I would appreciate your input so if you can spare a little of your time as a household, please complete a short survey which can be found on this webpage.

From January and once a location is confirmed I shall be running our first drop in surgery to allow you to talk to me in person about anything relating to Beaulieu’s open spaces or Beaulieu Estate Management LTD.  The date of this surgery will be posted within this webpage.

If you wish to contact me in the meantime regarding any issues or comments you might have, please contact me on 0330 365 9500 or at laurenhull@thelandtrust.org.uk.

I look forward to meet you all.

    Lauren Hull

We will not ask you for any personal information, we only want to make sure whatever future events we plan are suitable and enjoyed by those of you who live within Beaulieu.
The link to the survey can be found here.

Many thanks and we look forward to meeting you soon.

Why not take part in a willow weaving workshop to make your own Christmas wreath to take home with you, provided by Groundworks East.

Local entertainers Solstice Storytellers Circle will be visiting to provide Christmas story telling sessions throughout the evening. Everyone will have the opportunity to visit Father Christmas himself with a small gift for each child before he heads back to the North Pole to prepare for his long journey on Christmas Eve.

  • New Estate Officer appointed for Beaulieu

Countryside and L&Q are delighted to announce the appointment of Lauren Hull as the Estate Officer for Beaulieu Estate Management Ltd, to manage Beaulieu’s parks and open spaces.

Lauren has a wealth of experience in managing country parks and open spaces.  She was previously employed as Parks Manager with Essex County Council, responsible for two Country Parks: Weald in Brentwood and Belhus Woods in Upminster. Prior to that she worked for a charity delivering education resources and events at a nature reserve owned by Harlow Council.

Within her new role, Lauren will organise and run a programme of events throughout the year alongside the residents and local community. She will also host resident meetings where you can share your thoughts on the estate and things you would like to see happen.

The wide variety of open spaces to be provided at Beaulieu will range from formal parks, village greens, play areas, allotments and community gardens to natural meadows. The Land Trust, of which Beaulieu Estate Management Ltd is a subsidiary, was appointed to take care of the ongoing management of the parks and open spaces, in partnership with the Beaulieu residents and wider local community.

Lauren Hull says: “I am excited about the possibilities for Beaulieu and look forward to meeting the residents and working with them to make sure the environment they live in is well cared for. We want the green spaces to be well used and something that the community here gets a real benefit from, now and in generations to come. We also want local people to be closely involved in deciding what community events we run so that these genuinely add to their sense of belonging and pride in living at Beaulieu.”

  • Beaulieu proudly unveils new public art Sculpture

On Thursday September 7th, Beaulieu welcomed a host of local dignitaries including the Mayor of Chelmsford, Cllr Duncan Lumley to officially unveil the latest significant piece of public art at Beaulieu.

Created by artist, Matthew Lane Sanderson, the majestic ten meter-tall sculpture provides a landmark sculptural piece that pays tribute to the site’s rich history and provides a focal point for Beaulieu.

This striking piece of artwork, which has been named “Crowned Stag” by the artist, depicts the reflection of a stag under a tree. It has been hand crafted from zinc-coated steel and is set on a crown base, reflecting the heritage of the site – a former deer park owned by King Henry VIII as part of his Tudor Palace and estate parkland. The intricate spherical sculpture is a significant way marker to Beaulieu, visible from the Essex Regiment Way (A130), and is prominently located at one end of ‘The Chase’, the newly created park and gardens.

The sculpture forms part of a programme of public art that is being delivered as part of the first phase Beaulieu.
