  • Beaulieu Scarecrow Trail – Easter 2021

Beaulieu Estate Management in partnership with Beaulieu Community Trust invite residents to join in our socially distance community event for Easter.

As restrictions are starting to lift, we hope to begin running an events program once again and felt Easter would be a great time to start off. Residents will still need to follow the most recent Government advice but we hope by spreading the trail out over a week, this will prevent any large groups at any one time. There are two ways to take part!

If you live in Beaulieu, managed by Beaulieu Estate Management, then we are asking if you would like to create a scarecrow to display by your home between 2nd-9th April. This year we haven’t set a specific theme so the more creative the better. To then be added to our trail map we are asking you to provide the first line of your address, contact details and a brief description of your scarecrow and email secretary@beaulieutrust.co.uk by the 26th March.

We will then create a trail map that will either be available via a digital download or to be picked up from Coffee Squared during opening hours between the 2nd-9th April. We have made these maps free for Beaulieu residents however if you would like to leave a small donation to the Beaulieu Community Trust who run the Community Centre you are more than welcome.

We hope this event is a huge success as we would love to make this an annual trail and in future years add further activities for the community and residents.

  • Winter Stories to warm your heart! Sunday 20th December

We are delighted to be able to provide a fantastic storyteller online event for you this weekend before Christmas.

This online event will involve a series of storytellers with diverse cultures and backgrounds providing stories with themes of winter and new beginnings.  The individual storytellers have recorded a couple of stories each and then these are being presented live by local story teller Shane Ibbs on Sunday 20th December broken into two sessions, morning at 11am and afternoon at 2pm. The storytellers all took part in the World Storytelling Café which was an online gathering of Storytellers from across the world, in a coming together through story in a response to the 2020 pandemic.

We hope residents will find a chance to take a break and enjoy these stories together as a family.

  • Residents Online Meeting 10th December

Sadly this year we have been unable to run any of our Face to Face events including residents meetings. We do usually like to run a number throughout the year to give residents an opportunity to find out what`s going on with Beaulieu Estate Management as well as updates from the community. On Thursday 10th December we will trail an online meeting at 6pm to update you on what’s happened over the past year and some expectations on next year. If successful we will look to run more meetings in this format until we return Face to Face. We are always available to answer any questions or quires about public open space at any time by emailing us at Beaulieu@thelandtrust.org.uk.

The meeting will run from 6pm-7pm and to access the meeting please follow the link provided: Here

If you are unable to select the link, please email us on the address above.

    Hope to see you there.

  • October Update from Beaulieu Estate Management

    Beaulieu Estate Management October Update

As we have come to the end of summer, we are now starting to look at works for the winter months and to the planting season. For the areas under our management we have already begun to look at plant replacements and looking at the condition at the various young trees on site. We have gone round with our contractor, Plant Style, and marked trees with tape that will be due to replacement as sadly there is little to no chance these trees will recover. There are a number of trees that haven’t been marked that may not be looking in the best condition however there are still signs of life in these trees and we suspect they are just under stress, particularly under recent conditions. There’s no guarantee that these trees will recover but we feel they deserve a bit more time as we don’t really want to remove trees that are alive.

There are other shrubs that are down to be replaced as well however it feels they have fared better than previous years. The management of shrubs and hedges should become more apparent as over the coming months the team will be working to trim and cut back to encourage further and healthy growth.

Lastly there are a few areas of public space within residential zones that are due to be adopted by Beaulieu Estate Management in the next few months. We are working with Countryside to ensure they have replaced any failures within these zones as well as keeping up the general maintenance.

If you have any questions about the public open space at Beaulieu please drop us an email at beaulieu@thelandtrust.org.uk

  • Coronavirus Update from Beaulieu Estate Management

In light of the current situation we have taken the difficult decision to cancel events for the next couple of months. This currently includes Easter Trail, Health Walks, Community Picnic and surgeries. We will do our best to communicate with everyone if anything changes via our social media pages. We feel this is the most sensible option following government advice and will eliminate any unnecessary contact between the community.

The Health Walks are being run with the support of Heart and Sole Chelmsford with one of the aims being to provide an activity for those that are isolated from friends and family, allowing them to meet other members of the community. We hope with their support to get these up and running as soon as it is safe to do so.

Although we would still encourage people to take a daily walk local to their home, this does not include using the play areas and following government advice these are currently closed. We have installed signage at all our play areas to make people aware that they are closed and shouldn’t be getting used. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Our contractors Plant Style are following government advice on social distancing and so you may have seen members of the team working on their own. Things are likely to change so a limited service will be running over the next couple of weeks so we ask for your patience. We will still be responding to any health and safety issues as soon as we can but other non-essential tasks such as grass cutting will be on a reduced service. Please report any concerns in the usual way, if your concern relates to landscape maintenance and the areas of public open space then please email beaulieu@thelandtrust.org.uk. If your issues relate to infrastructure such as roads, paths and lighting then please contact Countryside customer service at customerserviceeast@cpplc.com.

Beaulieu Estate Management will still be responding to all your queries with Community Engagement Officer Martin being available via email: martinpayne@thelandtrust.org.uk. Martin is happy to arrange a one to one discussion over the phone however will no longer be arranging face to face meetings. If you have any concerns please get in touch. We have back up provisions if needed should Martin not be able to respond.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope you are all keeping safe.
